10 days Tanzania safari

On this day, your safari guide will pick you up from your Arusha hotel and welcome you to the wilderness. As you continue to travel through Tanzania’s northern region, you will arrive at Serengeti National Park, where you may start your wildlife viewing excursions. You will be driven to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

On this day, breakfast will be provided at your Serengeti National Park lodge as you get ready for the day’s game drives. During your early-morning game drive, you’ll be on the lookout for animals including lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, gazelles, elands, impalas, dik dik, kudus, waterbucks, and many more. After lunch, you’ll go on another game drive before returning to your lodge for supper and the night.

After breakfast at your accommodation in Serengeti National Park, your guide will take you to Ngorongoro Crater. The largest crater in the world, Ngorongoro is renowned for its abundance of wildlife, particularly the “big five”—elephants, lions, buffalo, leopards, and rhinoceroses. You will descend into the Ngorongoro crater for about 600 meters after lunch, where you will witness sights like Lake Magadi, which is well-known for having big flocks of flamingos along its borders. On your safari, you’ll also get to witness a wide range of wildlife, including cheetahs, jackals, gazelles, hippos, elands, wildebeests, and many more.

Large elephant herds and historic baobab trees are two of Tarangire National Park’s most well-known features. After breakfast at your lodging in Ngorongoro conservation area, you will be taken to Tarangire national park. You will enjoy spotting animals on your game drives in Tarangire National Park, including waterbucks, giraffes, elands, gazelles, lions, and leopards. This national park is also renowned for the large variety of bird species that may be viewed in the park’s several birding spots. After your game drive in the national park, you will be transported to Arusha for dinner and sleep.

Following breakfast at your lodge, you will be taken to Arusha, where you will take part in a city tour, see the town’s top attractions, interact with the Masai people, and discover their way of life. Afterward, you will return to your hotel to unwind and spend the rest of the day there.

After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will take you to Momela gate to begin your Mount Meru trekking trip. You will enjoy spotting wildlife along the way while trekking the mountain on your first day, which should take you between 5 and 7 hours. Wildlife species you might encounter include giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and buffalos, among others. The climb at the mountain’s base will reward you with views of rivers and a waterfall. At the entrance, the group that you’ll be hiking with on your Mount Meru trip will be waiting for you. Before you begin your ascent, you will receive a briefing. To get to Miriakamba hut, where you will spend the night, you will travel with your packed lunches, which you will eat along the way.

On this day, you’ll awaken and eat breakfast made by your cook before setting out from Miriakamba hut to continue your climb up Mount Meru. A ranger guide will walk alongside you as you ascend the challenging trail to Saddle hut. On this 10-day safari to the Serengeti and Mt. Meru, you’ll also get to see the crater and trek for three to five hours. Dinner will be served early at Saddle Hut as you get ready to walk to the top of Mount Meru.

Breakfast will be served early in the morning as you get ready to hike from the Saddle Hut to the top. You will begin your ascent to Mount Meru’s top, Tanzania’s second-highest mountain after Mount Kilimanjaro. It will take between 10 and 12 hours to complete this hike. You will climb along the mountain’s steep ridges and cliffs before spending some time at Mount Meru’s peak (4565 meters). Starting from the peak, you’ll descend to the saddle hut for a rest before moving on to the Miriakamba hut for dinner and the night.

You will begin your descent back to Momela gate through forests and meadows where wildlife can be spotted along the way after eating breakfast at Miriakamba hut. Once your trekking excursion on Mount Meru is over, you will receive certificates. After this adventure, your guide will transport you to your hotel in Arusha for dinner and stay.

You will have breakfast, check out of your hotel, and head to the airport on the final day of your 10-day Serengeti and Mt. Meru safari, which will put an end to your trip to Tanzania.
