Discover the abundant wildlife and breathtaking beauty of Zimbabwe’s largest reserve by visiting Hwange National Park on a full-day excursion from Victoria Falls. Take two game drives to look for the park’s wildlife at its drinking holes. The Cape wild dog, the Southwestern African lion, and a sizable population of elephants may all be found in Hwange before you head back to your Victoria Falls hotel.
With around 400 different bird species, Hwange is a virtual avian paradise for serious birders. The wet season (November to April) is the best time to go bird watching since it attracts a large number of migratory species, such as the southern carmine bee-eater and the Amur falcon. A good period to see desert-specific species, such as the Namaqua sand grouse and the Kalahari scrub robin, is during the second half of the year (May to October). Other noteworthy sightings in the park include the southern ground hornbill and Africa’s largest flying bird, the kori bustard.
You will be taken from Victoria Falls to the Hwange National Park in the early morning. On your way to the park, you’ll pass past the communities and the Hwange mine. You will leave at 6:30 am, and when you return to your hotel, it will be around 6:30 pm. The entire day tour will consist of a morning and afternoon game drive in the park.
