1 Day Okavango Tour

Description

On this full-day excursion departing from Maun, go far into the Okavango Delta’s wetlands. Join a small group to meet the Mokoro people, who will take you on a tour of the canals in one-tree canoes. Gently float downstream while your guide provides comments as you take in the local animals. After lunch, go a nature walk to see additional creatures on one of the islands.

The tour typically begins at 07:30 with a hotel pickup. The transfer to the Okavango Delta NG32 Concession thereafter takes 45–1 hour. You will be assigned a guide or poler who will lead you on an amazing excursion across the Okavango’s waterways. Our polers and guides will show you their native land, about which they are incredibly enthusiastic and informed, having been born and raised in the Okavango Delta.

We assist the Okavango Delta’s native community. All of our polers are assigned by rotation and come from the village Community Trust. You go on a voyage across the delta channels with the skilled polers. In a Mokoro, take in the tranquility of the delta. After a picnic lunch on one of the islands, you stop for a nature walk with your guide where we expect to view additional wildlife. Before returning to Maun, take in the calm and quiet of the Okavango while being surrounded by hippos and serenaded by the diverse birdlife.
