Itinary in details

Upon landing at Lilongwe International Airport which is located in Malawi’s capital city, you will be welcomed by one of our representative who will transfer you to your reserved hotel Lodge. You’ll take part in a variety of activities, including excursions to cultural villages, bird viewing, walking safaris, tours of the dairy farm, boat rides on Lake Malawi, and wildlife drives in the national parks. If you need a break from the thrilling activities, you may have a cocktail poolside or savor delicious meals at the on-site restaurant.

Continually travel along the Great African Rift as you take a road transfer to Zomba Mountain in the south. The area features forested landscapes with cool streams and waterfalls. The safari takes you through a trout farm, waterfalls, and eventually to Chingwe’s Hole, a cavern on the plateau’s edge. The Zomba Tour, the Potato Trail, the breathtaking views from Nawimbe Peak, and day trips into Liwonde National Park are some additional tours. Elephant, Hippo, Crocodile, Antelope, Impala, and a wide variety of birds are among the wildlife species that are likely to be sighted.

Your journey continues to Mvuu Lodge, which is located on a lagoon’s edge next to Liwonde National Park’s Shire River. The park is home to vast herds of elephants, as well as waterbuck, hippo, reedbuck, and buffalo. There are countless ways to see wildlife, from land-based expeditions to water-based safaris. The best time to observe the abundant birdlife and track spoor with the aid of a knowledgeable guide is during nature walks. In Liwonde National Park, game drives are conducted in the early morning or during designated night drives that are intended to highlight the nocturnal wildlife of the bush. The unique game drives into the Rhino Sanctuary, where efforts are being undertaken to save the Black Rhino, are a highlight of your stay at Mvuu Lodge. Safaris on rivers can include exhilarating Hippo, Elephant, and Crocodile sightings.

Today, you’ll take a road trip to Cape Maclear, where you’ll have the option of kayaking or taking a boat to Mumbo Island Camp. This beach hideaway provides you with a selection of water sports that are perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. Take a snorkeling or scuba diving expedition into Lake Malawi’s pristine waters, kayak among its thriving fish population, or just go swimming in the protected waters around Mumbo Island. There are numerous hiking paths on the island that are secure to explore without a guide. Keep your eyes and ears peeled as you explore the environment for signs of the diverse birdlife. Because it is still uninhabited by people, your stay at our safari lodge will be quiet, secluded, and associated with nature.

Take a 3- to 4-hour road transfer to leave Mumbo Island. You will be dropped off at the airport in Lilongwe to catch your flight back home.
