Itinary in details

Upon landing at Harare International Airport, you will be met by a Dav safaris representative and transferred to your Hotel. Depending on when you arrive, you can take a city tour, go to an art gallery, or visit an orphanage for animals (all of these are optional).

Today following breakfast, you will start your journey to the Great Zimbabwe monuments. Around midday, you’ll arrive in this medieval city, giving you plenty of time to eat lunch and take a guided tour of the city’s landmarks. The ruined metropolis of Great Zimbabwe is located close to the town of Masvingo in the country’s southeasterly hills. During Zimbabwe’s Late Iron Age, it functioned as the nation’s capital and what’s thought to have been the local king’s royal palace. The monument’s construction lasted from the 11th century to the 15th century. The stone city, which is 722 hectares in size, had a maximum capacity of 18,000 inhabitants. Great Zimbabwe has subsequently been designated a national monument by the government of Zimbabwe, and a contemporary state bears its name.

You will leave early for the Matobo Hills National Park, which is 250 kilometers straight west of Great Zimbabwe and is close to Bulawayo. Your first game drive of your African wildlife safari will be in the late afternoon. Matobo National Park features a large variety of wildlife, including 175 bird species, 88 animal species, 39 snake species, and 16 fish species. Leopards, impalas, sable antelopes, and white rhinos are all present in the game. Rhinos, both white and black, have been added to the game park. Both of these species, as well as hyenas, hippopotamuses, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and ostriches, have been given the designation of Intensive Protection Zone. This is one place where there is a good possibility you will see African leopards and shy rhinos in their natural habitat.

Matopo National Park is home to a variety of wildlife, including the highest number of black and white rhinos and Africa’s largest concentration of leopards, which are both major tourist attractions. Other more noticeable animals in the park include bushbuck, impala, kudu, giraffe, lion, baboon, monkeys, and more. Both dasies and rock hyrax are highly prevalent, and leopard density is also fairly high. On this day, we will visit the vista point, the highest point in the Matopo Hills, and the rock art painting in the morning, and we will go on another safari for animal viewing in the afternoon.

Following breakfast, we’ll head to Hwange National Park. At around 1:00 p.m., you will be transferred to your Safari Lodge in time for lunch. You will join the late afternoon game drive at Hwange National Park. Late afternoons are ideal for predators and are rarely overlooked on these outings.

After breakfast, you will be taken up for a full-day safari in Hwange National Park. There will be mineral water, soft drinks, a picnic lunch, and plenty of beverages. Any of the several viewing areas that dot the park will be used by us for lunch. Around 4:00 pm, you’ll be back at the lodge. Hwange’s elephants are internationally famous, and the park’s elephant population is one of the largest in the world. Over 65000 elephants live in the park, and during the dry season, they take over all of the watering holes in the afternoons. Lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, impala, kudu, sable, eland, waterbuck, zebra, giraffe, baboon, warthog, and many more creatures can also be observed in the park.

Following breakfast, you will be driven for two hours to Victoria Falls in air-conditioned vans. Following your check-in at your resort, you will immediately take the Victoria Falls escorted tour. This 2 kilometer walk takes roughly two hours to complete. A visit to the Victoria Falls National Park’s large baobabs and a stop at the curio market to buy gifts are also included. You will be driven to the jetty at 4:00 pm for the tranquil Zambezi River sunset cruise. As you unwind with a sundowner and some munchies, enjoy the view of the river’s banks. Have your camera at the ready to capture one of Africa’s breathtaking sunsets. This two-hour boat tour includes all drinks, food, and transportation back to the dock. Around 7:00 pm, plan to return to the hotel.

This is your free day to go shopping in Victoria Falls or take optional tours. Optional tours may include the following activities:

  • Helicopter flights over the Victoria Falls
  • Lion walks
  • Devils pool swimming on the Zambia side of the falls
  • Day trip to the Chobe National Park of Botswana
  • White water rafting
  • Bungee jumping off the Zambezi bridge

This is the last day of the journey, and you might have the opportunity to take one more optional activity, such as a canoe trip on the Zambezi River in the early morning or a morning game drive. The departure times from the hotel will be determined by the flight times. It is advised that visitors arrive at the airport at least two hours before their flights.
