With an area of 4 092 square kilometers (1 580 square miles), the magnificent Lower Zambezi National Park is a truly unique place. It shares a border with Zimbabwe’s Mana Pools Reserve, creating a vast area of wilderness that is protected for ecotourism, and it has stunning views of the Zambezi River and lush river surroundings.

South Luangwa national park is one of Zambia’s top tourist destinations. At 9,050 sq km, the park is centered on the Luangwa River and certainly lives up to its reputation as one of Africa’s largest concentrations of wildlife. It is renowned as one of the world’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries. Though it can still be challenging to locate the elusive animals, the leopard population in this area is among the greatest in the world.

Victoria Falls are one of Zambia’s top tourist destinations. It is renowned for its breathtaking waterfall and picturesque surroundings. The Zambezi River, which serves as the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, passes right by the falls. The falls are a UNESCO World Heritage Site as well as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The falls are roughly 1.6 kilometers broad and 108 meters tall.

Itinary in details

When you arrive at the Lusaka airport, a member of our team will welcome you and transport you to the exquisite Hotel for an overnight stay. Additional nights are available if you would want to arrive earlier and rest before your safari excursion begins but on an extra cost.

Transfer to the Lusaka airport this morning for your journey to Lower Zambezi. Upon arrival, be transferred to your camp in the Lower Zambezi National Park. You will be only a few meters away from feasting elephants as they spend long, languid days by the riverbanks, attracted by the corn-yellow pods that fall from the trees. Twelve roomy, isolated tents with a great view of the Lower Zambezi.

After breakfast, you will meet the professional armed guides and get ready for your walking safari, where you will go on foot to see some of Africa’s best species up close. This is one of the best ways to enjoy African wildlife. Some of the creatures to look out for while on your walking safari include, elephants, Buffalo, Lions and several species of Antelope, Following the hike, you’ll return to the lodge for some downtime before leaving for a park game drive later that evening.

In contrast to other regions of Africa, almost 95% of wildlife sightings in this region are restricted to your vehicle. After breakfast, you’ll meet with the knowledgeable guides for a game drive to look for animals like elephants, hippos, buffalo, waterbucks, zebras, impalas, bushbucks, and kudus. After the drive, you will return to the lodge for a quick lunch before leaving in the middle of the day for canoeing. As most animals will be down by the river for drinking water, you will have a great African experience of approaching wildlife on a canoe. Afterward, you will transfer to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

You will be driven to Jeki Airstrip this morning to catch your flight to Mfuwe. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and driven to Lion Camp in South Luangwa National Park. The camp is situated next to the water, surrounded by forests and some huge sausage and mahogany trees. The openness of the resort offers breathtaking views of the plains with wildlife always present.

You will meet up with your knowledgeable guides after an early breakfast and depart for Zambia’s best safari location, the south Luangwa. The water holes and flood plains serve as a significant water source for wildlife, and you may occasionally see animals congregating around them. Some of the classic game includes lions, leopards, elephants, hyenas, buffalos, giraffes, and abundant birdlife in the park. You will return to the lodge for lunch and some downtime before setting out

After morning coffee/tea, you will meet the armed safari rangers and travel on foot to the park’s fantastic game watching areas; this is one of the finest wildlife experiences on foot; image coming face to face with an African elephant, buffalo, or lions on foot. After the walk, you’ll head back to the lodge to unwind. Later that night, you’ll load up the car with refreshments and snacks for another game drive to look for more wildlife.

After a hearty breakfast in the morning, you’ll say goodbye to the resort and head to the airport for your flight to Livingstone. When you arrive, our guide will meet you and take you to a luxurious lodge on the banks of the Zambezi River where you can unwind and spend the night.

After breakfast, you’ll take a drive to Victoria Falls, where you’ll arrive fully equipped with your hiking equipment and explore various waterfall viewing locations. You will return to the lodge for a late lunch and some downtime following your breathtaking experience at the falls.

After an unforgettable safari in Zambia, you may spend the morning relaxing or exploring the Livingstone Museum. Later that evening, you can take a boat trip to watch the sun set over the Zambezi River while enjoying drinks and snacks. You’ll then return to the lodge for supper and the night.

Depending on the time of your departure, you will be taken to the Livingstone airport for your subsequent trip home after breakfast.
