Itinary in details

Greetings from Malawi! When you arrive at Chileka International Airport, a Dav Safaris guide will be there to greet you and take you to Mkulumadzi, which is located inside Majete Wildlife Reserve, one of the remarkable success stories of African conservation. On your tour, you will stay here for two nights. Mkulumadzi, which is surrounded by 7,000 hectares of private concession, is situated in a picturesque setting at the meeting point of two rivers that are shadowed by enormous Leadwood trees. It is the ideal fusion of wonderful seclusion and top-notch amenities. Majete is a true wilderness that is unexplored by visitors and where every excursion into the bush with a group of knowledgeable guides will feel adventurous.

Today you will rise and go on your final activity at Majete Wildlife Reserve before being whisked away to the breathtaking Satemwa Tea Estates. For the next two nights, you will be transported to the lovely Huntingdon House. Take guided tours of the estates, play croquet on the lawn, explore the coffee plant, and sample some tea. For a bird’s-eye perspective of the estate and well beyond, don’t forget to make the trip up to the picnic area for sundowners. You can also go on a day trip to Mount Mulanje and go hiking there before returning to the lodge to eat a home-cooked supper and drink a cocktail, sit by the fire in the drawing room.

Today you will be driven to the Shire River, where you will be welcomed by Kuthengo Camp employees and transported by boat to your home for the next two nights. Upon arrival, you will settle into your accommodation and have a nap. You will go on your first game drive to see the wildlife of Liwonde National Park that afternoon. You will be brought back to camp following your activity in time to freshen up before taking part in an outdoor meal and campfire stories.

The following morning, get early for your morning activity—you can go on a game drive, a walking safari, or a boat safari! Jump in the pool after your workout or go bird watching on your private deck before lunch. Why not take a nap after lunch or read a book by the pool before your evening activity? A game drive, dinner, and a restful night of sleep were all in store.

We are heading to the lake! You’ll be driven today to Kayak Africa Cottage in Cape Maclear, where you can board a boat and travel to Mumbo Island. Take a plunge in Lake Malawi’s warm waters after settling into your Mumbo Island Lodge chalet’s simple yet lovely lake outlook. Take advantage of all the thrilling water sports available, including kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling, and sunset cruises. You might also go exploring the natural wonders of this isolated island on foot. Take one of the many nature paths to find secret coves, caves, and wildlife before relaxing with a sundowner gin and tonic at the well-known “pod rock” viewpoint.

Today, your guide will pick you up by boat and take you back to the mainland. He will then drive you to Whistler’s Cottage in Senga Bay, where you will board the Blue Zebra boat to the private island. You will spend the last two nights. Take a leisurely walk around the island – don’t forget your binoculars (if you visit during the green season, you might see the African Pitta nesting here!) Kayak around the island, snorkel, swim in the gorgeous infinity pool, or simply rest on your private balcony.

Today is your last day in Malawi. You will be transferred back to the mainland by boat, where your guide will meet you and take you to Lilongwe Kamuzu International Airport for your flight back home.
