3 Days Birding Safari in Kenya is a short, fantastic, and excellent safari package that gives birders the chance to visit Kenya’s Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha, two incredible birding locations in the country’s stunning Rift Valley province. Expect to see a wide variety of vibrant and fascinating bird species on this safari, including lesser and greater flamingos, saddle-billed storks, Hottentot teal, grey-crowned cranes, Kenya rufous sparrows, lesser kestrels, jacanas, great white egrets, white-fronted bee-eaters, and many others that live in these locations.
On the first of your three safari days, you’ll enjoy a sumptuous breakfast at your Nairobi hotel before meeting your safari driver and traveling to Lake Naivasha. You will stop at the Great Rift Valley escarpments en route to Lake Naivasha for breathtaking scenic views before continuing on to the park. After arriving in the park, you will check into your lodging, eat lunch, and then depart for a one-hour boat ride on Lake Naivasha in the late afternoon. You can see many different birds, including herons, pelicans, lesser and greater flamingos, fish eagles, and many others, while taking a boat tour on the lake. Additionally, you see aquatic creatures like hippos and crocodiles. You will return to your lodge in the evening, eat dinner, and spend the night there.
On this day, you will wake up early for breakfast, then check out of your lodge and head to Lake Nakuru, which is located in Lake Nakuru National Park. After checking into your lodging upon arrival, you will eat lunch before heading to a lake for a bird watching excursion. On the lake, you will see many birds including Lesser and greater flamingos, herons, secretary birds, fish eagles, great white pelicans, Hottentot teal, grey crowned crane, Kenya Rufous sparrow, saddle-billed stork, and many more. Numerous other animals, including lions, rhinos, hippos, leopards, waterbucks, and many others, will be visible. You will eat dinner and spend the night at your lodge in the evening.
After breakfast this morning at your lodge, you’ll meet your safari driver, check out of your accommodation, and then start your journey back to Nairobi. When you arrive in Nairobi, you will be dropped off at either your hotel or the international Jomo Kenyatta airport in time for your flight home.
