This 3 Days Uganda Birding Tour includes visits to Mabamba Swamp, Lake Mburo National Park, and the Botanical Gardens. Mabamba Wetland is one of the most well-liked birding safari locations in Uganda, offering fantastic bird sightings like the highly sought-after Shoebill Stork. In addition to the Shoebill, the Mabamba Wetland is an international Ramsar site located 48 kilometers from Kampala. It also offers the potential to see bird species like the grey-crowned crane, cattle egret, common bulbul, long-crested eagle, hammerkop, and grey plantain eater, among others, providing birders in Uganda with a varied and exciting experience.

3 Days Uganda Birding Tour, Lake Mburo National Park is situated in western Uganda’s Kiruhura District. The largest city in the sub-region, Mbarara, is located about 30 kilometers (19 mi) east of the park. The distance between this location and Kampala, the largest city and capital of Uganda, is roughly 240 kilometers (150 miles) by road. Its sculpted landscape of undulating hills and idyllic lake shores has a diverse mosaic of habitats, including rich acacia-woodland, seasonal and permanent swamps, and grassy valleys, all of which support an abundance of wildlife.

The Entebbe botanical gardens are one of the lovely places that welcome you to the wildlife in the country as they are located close to Entebbe international airport, which is located on the shores of one of the world’s freshwater lakes. Botanical gardens are the ideal way to experience all the beauty and enchantment of the pearl of Africa. The pearl of Africa has some gorgeous botanical gardens. Unless one is a birder, visitors occasionally are unaware of the gardens because they are not listed on the tour itinerary.

Itinary in details

On this day, a representative of our company will pick you up from your Entebbe hotel. To look for the extinct Shoebill stork in Mabamba swamp and other bird species, like the Angola Swallow, Swamp Flycatcher, Olive Bellied Sunbird, African Fish Eagle, and the Knob-billed Duck, to name a few. You will continue your drive to Lake Mburo national park after your birding experience at Mabamba Swamp, stopping for lunch along the way and enjoying some bird watching. After arriving at the park, you will check into your lodging before leaving for another birding excursion later that evening.

After breakfast at your lodge today, you’ll leave for the park to go bird watching during a morning game drive. Among other bird species, you can keep an eye out for the Bateleur, Rufous-bellied Heron, Grey-crowned crane, Coqui Francolin, Black-bellied Bustard, and Brown-chested Lapwing. Go back to your lodge for lunch after your bird-watching excursion. Following lunch, you’ll go on a boat tour in the afternoon to look for birds like the elusive African Finfoot, White-winged Swamp Warbler, Papyrus Gonolek, and White-backed Night Heron. After dinner, go back to your lodge and spend the night.

The final day of your three-day Uganda birding tour begins with breakfast at your lodging. Then, you and your guide will drive back to Entebbe. Along the way, you’ll stop for lunch and visit the Kayabwe monuments marking the Equator. You will travel to Entebbe’s Botanical Gardens in the late afternoon to look for various bird species, including the Bathawk, Golden-backed weaver, African Grey Parrot, and Orange Weaver. You will be dropped off at your preferred hotel at Entebbe International Airport.
