Itinary in details

After breakfast, your guide will greet you and give you a quick overview of your four-day safari before you start the roughly nine-hour drive to Bwindi Forest. You’ll make a pit stop en route to the equator to take pictures and buy some goods before continuing on to Mbarara for lunch. The drive will continue after lunch as you pass through picturesque countryside, terraced hills, and eventually arrive at Kabale, widely known as the Switzerland of Africa. After dinner, stay the night.

Accommodations include the Gorilla Forest Camp (luxury), Silverback Lodge (moderate), and Buhoma Community Camp (budget).

Enjoy your breakfast before departing from your accommodation at 7 am to travel to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your gorilla tracking expedition in the dense Bwindi forest mist. Pack a lunch as you go. Following that, continue with the trekking process, which can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, largely depending on how far the gorillas travel. One hour is allotted for trekkers to spend with the gentle giants, which is plenty of time to observe them at play, feed them, and snap pictures. Later, return to the lodge, unwind for a while, and then go for an evening communal walk in the Batwa community. Enjoy your meal and sleep well.

Get up early enough to eat breakfast, bring a packed lunch from the resort, and then prepare for your gorilla trekking adventure. The process is the same as the first day, except that you will be trekking a different gorilla group. Following your trekking, you’ll drive to Lake Bunyonyi, which has 29 islands and is a haven for birds. Its waters are also free of bilharzia and safe for swimming. You will eat dinner here and spend the night.

After a satisfying breakfast, go off on a boat excursion on Lake Bunyonyi, where you’ll pass by a number of islands and see terraced hills, birds, and other attractions. After that, set out on your journey to Kampala, stopping for lunch along the way, and arrive there in the evening. Your tour guide will transport you to your accommodation in Kampala or the airport in time for your trip back home.
