Itinary in details

Today, you will be welcomed by your driver guide in Kigali and transferred to Akagera National Park. You’ll get there in time to board the late-afternoon boat ride on Lake Ihema, where you’ll get to witness wildlife including hippopotamuses, crocodiles, and other bird species that inhabit the lake and the nearby marshes.

Get up early and go on a game drive in expectation of viewing the many animals that emerge early to graze and predators searching for their morning prey. Once you’ve finished your game drive, go back and meet up with your driver guide to begin your transport back to Kigali for lunch. You will take a city tour, stopping at the Kimironko market and the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre before returning to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

On the third day of your four-day safari to Akagera and the volcanoes national park, you will leave from your hotel after breakfast and travel to the volcanoes national park, where you will check into a hotel and relax before having lunch and taking part in a cultural experience with a local guide. Return for supper and a night’s rest.

After a leisurely breakfast, you will depart for the park headquarters with your packed lunch and bottled water for a briefing at the park. Following the session, go in search of the gentle giants in the wild, and once you find them, spend an hour observing their behavior there. Once your activity is finished, your guide will transfer you back to Kigali, where you will arrive that evening. Your safari comes to a close with a drop-off at the airport or your accommodation in Kigali.
