Itinary in details

Take the aircraft of your choice to Cape Town, South Africa. You will be greeted by your guide right outside the plane, and they will accompany you while you go through customs, baggage claim, and immigration. Your guide will transport you to your hotel where you will spend the night.

Today, take a private tour of the “Mother City,” Cape Town, South Africa! Visit Parliament, the Castle (South Africa’s oldest structure), Greenmarket Square, the Company Gardens, and Table Mountain. After an exhilarating morning of exploration, you will arrive at Bo-Kaap, the Cape Malay community’s home. Before being dropped off at the Waterfront to explore the shops and restaurants, spend some time admiring the cobblestone streets and vividly colored residences. This afternoon, go exploring on your own.

You can take it easy and do whatever you want with this morning. Explore one of the numerous nearby sites, stroll the beaches of Cape Town, or go shopping. Prepare to depart for Robben Island at 1 PM by making your way to the clock tower. (You should arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled departure time). When you arrive on the island, you will be greeted by your local guide, who lived on the island during the Apartheid era. Visit Nelson Mandela’s cell, where he spent 18 years as a prisoner, learn about the political context of the time, see the horrific conditions prisoners experienced. Before returning to your hotel, take the ferry back to the V&A riverfront where you can eat dinner on your own.

Today you go to the beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay. Your first stop will be at the Simonstown Naval Base, where you’ll go to Boulders Beach to see the breeding colony of African penguins. Continue on to the Cape of Good Hope National Reserve via Chapman’s Peak for breathtaking views of False Bay and the point where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans converge. After reaching Hout Bay via the breathtaking Chapman’s Peak Drive, you’ll return to Cape Town by way of the Atlantic Coast, past Clifton and Camps Bay beaches. You are free to explore the surrounding region on your own for dinner.

You return to Cape Town International Airport this morning to fly home. If you have additional time, extend your stay by going on a safari to the nearby Victoria Falls or the Kruger National Park.
