5-Days Central Kalahari Game Reserve Safari

The trip from Maun to the destination camp (Deception Valley) in CKGR will start early in the morning. On the 316 mile trip, a safari vehicle will be used, providing ideal observation of the level grasslands. Springbok, gemsbok, wildebeest, hartebeest, eland, and giraffe are among the animals that may be found in this area. Traveling into truly untamed wilderness of seemingly endless dimensions is a fantastic experience at other seasons of the year, when the animals are more thinly dispersed. When you arrive at camp, you will be greeted with lunch and an afternoon nap. An evening and sunset game drive.

Rise and rise and greet a new day with coffee, tea, and rusks before heading out on a morning game drive to Sunday Pan waterhole and enjoying brunch at Passarge Valley. Cheetahs and lions rest in the thickets of thorny Acacia bushes, which are covered in the midday sun. The Secretary Bird, Kori Bustard, and Ostrich are the most common bird species to be sighted in CKGR, although there is also a decent chance of sighting Lappet-faced Vulture and White-backed Vulture. We’ll carry on our exploration along this incredible landscape in pursuit of its splendors. We’ll return across Leopard Pan on the last leg of the morning drive to get to camp in time for lunch and an afternoon nap. We will leave after a well-earned nap to go on an evening game drive to Deception Pan, where we will see a beautiful sunset. As soon as dusk falls, we’ll return to camp.

The camp will be broken up and prepared to go to Nxai Pans on this eventful morning. On a leisurely trip to our next camp, we will leave in our safari vehicles. The Kalahari Game Reserve will no longer be visible, so this will be your final opportunity to enjoy it. After our journey to the Nxai Pans, we’ll take a break for a quick lunch and then set off in quest of some animals, crossing through lagoons and pools along the river channels as well as open grasslands. After that, we’ll travel back to camp in the late afternoon as we consider our sightings there. Depending on the date, we will refresh up after arriving and then participate in camp activities, which can include playing traditional games like morabaraba or attending traditional cookery master classes. After enjoying a hot shower in the privacy of your suite tent, you will then sit down to a campfire meal.

Get up early and have a hot, satisfying breakfast before venturing out to explore more of the renowned Nxai pans for some fantastic game viewing. The best time to see birds is in the early morning. We’ll get back in Maun in plenty of time for you to catch your flight home.
