5 Days Masai Mara Wildlife and Cultural Safari

Description

This 5-day Masai Mara Wildlife and Cultural Safari combines an experience with the local Masai people to learn more about their way of life as cattle keepers with an adventure with wildlife in the Masai Mara National Reserve. Due to the variety of animal and plant species found there, Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the most popular tourist destinations. Tourists have the chance to witness the annual wildebeest migration in Masai Mara because this is where the animals mate before crossing the Mara River and returning to Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park for breeding. Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the most beautiful safari destinations in Kenya, with endless plains scattered with short savannah plains that make it easy to see the animals that live there. Some of the animals that can be found and spotted in the Masai Mara National Reserve include lions, cheetahs, leopards, cape buffaloes, rhinos, wildebeests, and hartebeests, among others. Expect to see as much wildlife as you can on this safari.

Masai Mara National Reserve is situated in south-western Kenya, close to Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, in the Mara Region/Masai Mara region, along the Great Rift Valley. It was created in 1961 as a wildlife sanctuary, encompassing just 520 square kilometers of the present-day Mara Triangle. Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve was expanded to the east in the same year, taking up roughly 1,821 square Kilometers. At this point, it was turned into a game reserve and placed under the new supervision of the nearby Narok County Council. The 159 km2 Masai Mara National Reserve was given national reserve status in 1974 and a portion of the land was given back to the locals.

Itinary in details

On this day, a representative of our company in Kenya will be waiting eagerly to greet you and pick you up from the airport. As you travel to the Masai Mara national reserve, which is located approximately 5 to 6 hours from Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city, you will receive a briefing on this safari. When you arrive, the park’s stunning and lovely flora, along with its numerous eye-catching wildlife species, will welcome you and make it seem like a magical place in Kenya. Check into your hotel, eat a late lunch if you can, and then spend the rest of the day driving to and from your hotel because there isn’t a minute to waste while in the Masai Mara.

Get up early, eat breakfast quickly, and leave as soon as you can to start your game drive before sunrise, giving you the best chance of seeing nocturnal mammals and hunters before they go to sleep. Some of the mammals to look for very early in the morning include lions, several cats, cheetahs, hyenas, leopards, and hyenas. Continue your drive through different areas of the Masai Mara to see additional large numbers of grazing mammals, including buffalo, elephants, hippos, rhinos, zebras, wildebeests, elands, impalas, gazelles, and many more. On the game drive, keep an eye out for the big 5 animals as well as any other intriguing sights in the Masai Mara national reserve that are worth seeing. Return for an afternoon game drive after lunch to keep an eye out for any animals you missed during your morning game drive.

Get up early and enjoy a delicious breakfast as you get ready for the second day of the fantastic game drive. Your driver guide will meet you early on this day and give you a briefing on the activities to be completed. He will lead you to different trails from the ones you went through yesterday so you can see additional wildlife that you missed the day before. Beautiful savannah plains, imposing vistas, and the famous river that wildebeest cross during their migration are all sights to behold as you travel along this road.

Early in the morning, rise from the comfort of your bed, meet your safari driver, and be transferred for a sunrise hot air balloon ride. You will see the balloon being inflated before it is finally taken up, and you will fly over wildlife species at a tree height elevation that provides a clear view of the nocturnal wildlife returning to hiding places, grazing mammals that enjoy fresh vegetation in the morning, and listen to sweet bird melodies. The fact that this Sunrise hot air balloon includes a bottle of Champaign as an added bonus and a bush breakfast when it lands is its most daring feature. You will begin your day with a bush breakfast, go on a game drive, and return to the lodge in the late afternoon. You will visit the local Masai People in their Manyatta later in the evening. You will be shocked by their high standard of living as cattle keepers. Learn about various tasks like milking and regional techniques for preserving milk before ending your tour with an exhilarating dance and theater performance. Do not forget to arrive back at your lodge in time for dinner and a night’s rest.

The activities you undertake on the final day of your five-day Masai Mara and Cultural Safari will depend on the time of your flight. Well, wake up for breakfast in the morning, check out of the lodge with a packed lunch, and then go on a game drive to explore the remaining areas of the Masai Mara National Reserve before leaving the area and being driven back to Nairobi. You will be dropped off in Nairobi, either at a hotel there or at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in time for your flight home.
