This morning we get up very early before sunrise to visit the magnificent Sossusvlei dunes, which are thought to be the highest sand dunes in the entire world. If you’re up for it, you can ascend to the summit before going back to your lodge to take a well-earned nap. For the breathtaking scenery, don’t forget your camera. We head northwest to the seaside communities of Swakopmund and Walvis Bay, both of which are on the Skeleton Coast. We soon return to the mountain desert after leaving the dunes far behind. Before arriving at the coastal sand dunes at the port town of Walvis Bay, we travel across the desolate “Namib gravel plains” from the mountains, taking a few pictures. Before starting the brief drive into Swakopmund, there will be time to observe the flamingos and other birdlife in the Walvis Bay lagoon.

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Today, the goal is to give everyone time to pursue their own interests. The town of Swakopmund is a very pleasant seaside resort with a large number of stores, a long stretch of beach (although the Atlantic here is quite chilly), and an outdoor flea market. Swakopmund is home to the Namibian National Marine Aquarium in addition to a top-notch museum. As an alternative, a number of optional activities can be planned. These include scenic drives, fishing excursions (from the beach or on a boat), quad bike excursions into the desert and over the sand dunes in the area around Swakopmund, sand boarding excursions, skydiving, surfing, and many other activities are available. Before you arrive in Swakopmund, your tour guide will go over all your options with you and offer to make reservations for you.

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

We will depart the coastal town early in the morning for Etosha National Park, which is home to four of the Big 5 (elephant, rhino, leopard, and lion), as well as a huge variety of game and birdlife. Additionally, you will go on morning and evening game drives. We will be able to see many of the big five while leisurely exploring Etosha National Park and visiting the numerous waterholes that are spread out throughout the park. You’ll be able to take advantage of the park’s incredible and well-known wildlife sightings.

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Today, you will spend the entire day on a game drive as you slowly make your way to the eastern Von Lindequist gate to leave the park. There are numerous watering holes along the path where animals congregate to drink will all be spot point of animals. Gemsbokvlakte, Olifantsbad, Nebrownii, Salvadora, and Rietfontein are outstanding places to stop on the way to Halali. Watch out for the lion pride that is frequently spotted in the Nebrownii area. . You can count on seeing a lot of wildlife and hauntingly gorgeous scenery as you travel on to your overnight stop.

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

We will have breakfast after an early morning game drive, and then leave the park for Windhoek on a good road with time to stop in Okahandja town, which is home to Namibia’s biggest woodcarving market. The market is a great place to shop last-minute for authentically Namibian souvenirs because the stalls are run cooperatively by the local community.
