When you arrive at OR Tambo (JNB) International Airport, a Dav Safaris representative will be waiting to greet you and drive you to Ekukhanyeni Relief Project. A non-governmental and nonprofit organization called Ekukhanyeni Relief Project concentrates on community improvement in impoverished informal settlements close to Johannesburg, South Africa. Join the director of early childhood development on a guided tour that includes the following activities: Visit an agricultural project, Interact with scholars, School visit to mention but a few.
Get up early, have breakfast at the hotel, and then check out. Your driver will meet you and transport you privately to OR Tambo (JNB) International Airport where you will catch a flight to Hoedspruit. On arrival, your safari guide will meet you for the trip to Kapama Southern Camp. You might want to refresh up before lunch, so you can relax afterwards. Snacks and sundowners will be planned at a location in the forest where the stunning African sunset can be seen. Following the sundowner break, you will take a brief nighttime drive while using spotlights to look for some of Africa’s nocturnal wildlife.
We’ll meet together early dawn for coffee and refreshments before getting into your private vehicle to search for rhinos. Before leaving, there will be a thorough safety briefing and a brief explanation of rhino poaching and efforts to stop it. When you get at the location, a highly skilled team comprised of a wildlife veterinarian and our experienced crew will dart a rhino. You’ll go on an afternoon game drive before dinner.
Enjoy a morning game drive. You will get in your private vehicle and leave to search for the lions. Before leaving, there will be a thorough safety briefing and a quick description of the lion conservation activities. When you get at the location, a skilled team, including a wildlife veterinarian and our experienced staff, will dart a lion for you to see. You will help with the following tasks: Assisting in the movement of the animal into a safe place, monitoring the animal’s vital signs, collaring the lion for identification purposes. The lion will then be re-mobilized when every piece of information has been captured. All visitors will receive a thorough debrief of the operation and an opportunity to reflect on the interaction after the lion has been released into the wild safely.
After an early morning game drive, you’ll head back to the lodge for breakfast. Spend the day at the lodge at your leisure, where you can use one of their swimming pools or get a spa treatment (for an extra fee). Lunch and dinner is available at the lodge.
For your final morning game drive, get up early. You’ll come back at noon for a hearty brunch. You’ll then have time to pack and check out. You will then be driven to Hoedspruit Airport for your trip to Johannesburg.
