Bwindi Impenetrable National Park stretches across the steep slopes of the Albertine Rift Valley in southwest Uganda, creating a spectacular expanse of lush vegetation. The national park is covered in both thick lowland forests and dense montane forest. Some could describe this terrain as being the most Tarzan-like. A rich environment can be found in the forested areas of Africa. The forested landscape has one of Africa’s most diversified ecosystems. Over 150 tree species are joined by over 1,000 floral plants and over 100 different varieties of ferns. This biologically varied region also supports 120 mammals, including many primate species such as baboons and chimps, as well as elephants and antelopes. This woodland is home to around 350 bird species, including 23 Albertine Rift endemics.

The Masai Mara National Reserve, which is contiguous with Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, is a huge wilderness of rolling plains totaling 1510 square kilometers in the southwest of the country along the Tanzania border. Since you can easily view animals on the plains from a distance, the Masai Mara is one of the best locations for safaris because it’s so easy to spot wildlife.

Itinary in details

Upon arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our company representative to start your journey to Masai Mara. You will ascend via a smoth tarmac road that will leads to Narok. You will take a short drive from the Narok town to Masai Mara national park. Connect to your lodge to unwind and spend the night.

Today, you will be picked up from your resort very early to connect for your hot air balloon tour, which will last around an hour and will provide you with fantastic aerial views of the park and its habitats. After the balloon ride, you will be given a certificate and driven back to your lodge, stopping along the way to see some of the animals. After lunch at your lodge, go on a game drive in the Masai Mara grasslands where you can get pretty close to numerous different wildlife species. On a game drive in the Masai Mara, you may expect to see anything from lone buffalo to mating lions, birds of every kind, and small wildlife of every description! Be alert as you watch the famous wildebeest migration from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara via the Mara River. Only the months of July through October see this movement. You might see animals like wildebeests, zebras, lions, cheetahs, elephants, hyenas, and Thompson’s gazelles, to name a few. Later that evening, go back to your lodge for dinner and a night’s rest

Today, after an early breakfast, your guide will bring you to the airport for your trip to Uganda. When you arrive at Entebbe airport, your safari guide will meet you and transport you to your Kampala hotel. Arrive to the hotel, eat lunch there, and then relax for the afternoon.

On this day, you will be picked up from your Kampala accommodation and driven approximately 540 kilometers to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in western Uganda. You will make two stops: one in Mbarara town for lunch and another at the equator for pictures, Continue to Bwindi arriving there in the evening.

After a delectable breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters with your packed lunch, water, and trekking supplies for a briefing on trekking with mountain gorillas from park officials who will outline expectations and non-expectations. After being assigned to a gorilla group, drive to the starting site where you will enter the forest to begin trekking. Depending on where the gorillas are, the hike will last 2–8 hours. You will have an hour to see them after you find them and to take photos and videos. After that, head back to the starting piont to catch a ride back to the lodge.

Get up early, eat breakfast, and then depart for either Entebbe or Kampala. It takes 8-9 hours to drive from Bwindi to Entebbe, with a lunch break along the way. You will either be dropped off at the airport for your night flight home upon arrival in Entebbe or at your hotel.
