6 Days Murchison falls & Rhino Safari

Description

With our 6 Days Murchison falls & Rhino Safari, you can enjoy great activities like exploring Budongo woodland in Uganda’s largest animal conservation region. In 1952, a government act passed under the reign of the colonial government established the national park. The park spans four districts due to its enormous (3,893 sq. km) size. Aproximate distance from Kampala city to the park is 280 kilometers. Murchison Falls, which are truly magnificent, are the main draw of the national park. The waterfalls’ name, Murchison, was given to them by British explorer Sir Samuel Baker. The strong waters of the Nile squeeze through a small valley before plunging 141 feet over a cliff to create the Murchison falls.

6 Days Murchison falls & Rhino Safari, The park is among the best locations in Africa for a safari, aside from the waterfalls. It has 76 recorded species of animals and innumerable bird species. There are more Roskilde giraffes in Murchison Falls than anywhere else in the world. East Africa’s Budongo Forest and Murchison Falls trip is once a life time activity. It also contains one of the highest populations of Nile crocodiles in all of Africa. A lion conservation unit has been established within the Murchison Falls wildlife conservation zone. Itinary in details

Your guide or driver will be waiting to pick you up from the airport and take you to the hotel of your choice in Entebbe where you will spend the night and have dinner. If your preferred hotel provides airport transportation, they will handle the pickup. For premium guests, the Imperial Resort Beach Hotel or Karibu Guesthouse will available as accommodation for mid-range guest.

You will be picked up by Dav Safaris guide at 8:00 am to begin the trip to the Murchison Falls National Park. You will travel via Luwero and Nakasongola as well as the capital of Kampala. You will pass through Luwero where the guerilla conflict that propelled the current administration to power began. You will enjoy the trip through rural Uganda and see how the inhabitants conduct their daily lives. You’ll see the numerous farms and pastoralists caring for the long-horned Ankole cattle or selling milk in huge Jerry cans by the roadside as you travel through Nakasongola. You could request that the guide or driver pull over for you so you can look at some of the fresh fruit grown nearby. Fruits in Uganda undoubtedly taste since they receive more direct sunshine when growing.

To safeguard the only remaining wild rhinos in Uganda, the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary was established in 1998. Because of widespread poaching, they are now extinct in all of Uganda’s national parks and reserves. The Sanctuary has taken on the duty of guarding the rhinos and making sure that their population grows to the point at which they may be put back into Uganda’s national parks. You will be escorted by a sanctuary ranger while monitoring rhinos at the Ziwa sanctuary. The ranger will acquaint you with the rhinos and educate you about the breeding program at the center and their outreach initiatives with nearby communities. The sanctuary is a great place to go on nature hikes, watch birds, and see primates.

After eating lunch, you’ll head to the Murchison Falls national park, to experience this natural beauty, the driver will take you directly to the top of the falls. Accommodation and overnight stay will be at Paraa safari Lodge (Luxury) and Murchison River (Mid-range)

Get up and have breakfast as you get ready for a fun-filled day. You will be picked up by the driver to proceed on an early-morning game drive in the park’s most fascinating area. Early in the morning is the ideal time to see the wildlife. Because the sun isn’t too scorching and they are anxious to go outside and feed, this is the time of day when they are most active. Also, you can see nocturnal creatures and birds making their way back to their burrows and hiding places. Expect to see elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, hyenas, leopards, and many antelope species.

A three-hour game trip in the morning is typical. You’ll finish it and return to your hotel for lunch and refreshments in order to get ready for the afternoon boat safari. At the base of Murchison Falls, the boat tour comes to an end. You will see one of the world’s largest collections of crocodiles and hippos while on the boat tour. Many park animals prefer to drink along the banks of the Nile River, where you may see most of the large creatures, including elephants. With thousands of water birds seen swimming and battling above the waters, this is also one of the top birding locations in Uganda. The boat’s approach to the base of the magnificent Murchison Falls is the highlight. You will be in awe at the view of the falls down the river if your excursion to the top of the falls on the first day wasn’t very exciting due to exhaustion. Luxury guests will find lodging at Paraa Safari Lodge and Murchison River Lodge for moderately priced rooms.

Now that you’ve seen the most of the park mammals as well as the stunning Murchison Falls, it’s time to concentrate on the primates. Prepare for the trip to Budongo Forest by rising early, eating breakfast, and getting ready. As was previously mentioned, Budongo Forest is a part of the Murchison Falls National Park. One of the best spots in Uganda to see chimpanzees is here. Light hiking shoes, long pants, and long shorts are required before participating in chimpanzee tracking. Before you embark on a guided tour to find the chimpanzees, there will be an introduction. One of the greatest spots to see birds in Murchison Falls National Park is Budongo. To see the chimpanzees and other monkeys perched on the branches of the trees, you must have a pair of binoculars with you. The lodging will be unique and near to the Budongo forest. Budongo Eco Lodge is a mid-range option, while Chobe Safari Lodge is for luxury guests.

With the exception of chimpanzee trekking, this day is meant for relaxation and participation in any activity of your choosing. Get up when you want to and have breakfast. You can ask the guide or driver to take you on a game drive around the park’s southern region, or you can just unwind near the lodge. Going on a cultural excursion or stopping by one of the nearby local communities are other options. Budongo Eco Lodge is a mid-range option, while Chobe Safari Lodge is for luxury guests.

As there will be no activities today, you can get up whenever you like, eat breakfast, and then wait to talk to the Guide about your return trip. Make sure to get ready on time so you can make it to the airport in time for your flight back home.
