Namibia is breathtaking from every viewpoint, but seeing the landscapes from a little plane high in the sky is wonderful. Join us on a 6-night flying safari in Namibia to see the best of this country’s vast and diverse landscapes, including the famous Sossusvlei sand dunes, the unique Hoanib Valley animals that have adapted to the desert, and the intriguing Skeleton Coast. A wildlife safari in Etosha can also be added to the itinerary as a custom option.
After meeting your pilot, you will board a private charter aircraft from Windhoek International Airport to the Namibian Rand Nature Reserve. Discover some of the most beautiful aerial scenery when transitioning from the mountainous Windhoek on your way to Sossusvlei. After arrival at the airstrip, you will be welcomed by the friendly staff of Dav Safaris. Then you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner and a night stay.
On the third day’s morning, it’s time to board the plane once more for an incredible coastal beautiful flight to Swakopmund. Look out for shipwrecks as well as the extraordinary Namibian Coastline. We’ll stop at Swakopmund for a very brief refuel. Then it’s time to fly again as you journey inland, taking in the breathtakingly huge terrain. The dramatic terrain of Kaokoland, which combines mountains, sand dunes, and vast desert plains, is well-known. Additionally, you will be able to enjoy its distinctive animals and nomadic Himba communities.
Today, you’ll trade two wings for four wheels as you make your way to Skeleton Coast. This full-day excursion is one of Namibia’s most scenic drives. You will get the opportunity to travel along the Hoanib River, which is home to vast herds of elephant and a variety of other animals. The path then continues into arid clay plains and is known as the Haurisub River, which eventually empties into the Atlantic Ocean. You’ll begin to notice the terrain changing into white sand dunes as the ocean wind grows more appealing.
On this day, your final day of your Namibian safari, you’ll fly from Shipwreck Lodge to Windhoek for the last leg of your adventure. As you finish your trip in Namibia, take in the final breathtaking airborne sight-seeing.
