Itinary in details

When you arrive at Victoria Falls Airport, a Dav Safaris representative will greet you and transport you to your hotel. Victoria Falls offers a breathtaking view of the Zambezi River, which divides Zambia and Zimbabwe. At the height of the rainy season, more than 500 million cubic meters of water per minute plunge over the edge, over a breadth of nearly two kilometers, into a valley more than one hundred meters below, creating columns of spray that can be seen from miles away. The Zambezi River is transformed from a calm river into a fierce torrent that thunders over the enormous rock over which the falls thunder, plowing through a series of stunning gorges. A trip to Victoria Falls is all about experiencing the force of the falls up close. A supper cruise (included) on the powerful Zambezi River is the day’s final highlight. An excellent way to unwind and take in the breathtaking scenery of the Zambezi River is to take a sunset boat on the Zambezi River. African sunsets provide excellent photographic opportunity.

You have the entire day to spend at Victoria Falls, where you can see the biggest body of water ever to fall from the sky as it thunders down a sheer rock face. You go for a guided tour of the falls on the Zimbabwean side after breakfast. It is an absolutely mind-blowing experience! No picture can even come close to capturing the reality, and nothing can prepare you for your first sight (US$50 per person for entry into the rainforest is not included).

A knowledgeable guide will accompany you through the jungle and provide information about the flora, animals, birds, mammals, and other areas of interest as well as a brief history of the falls. While seeing this most magnificent of waterfalls, guides are also delighted to help tourists take pictures. The rest of the day is free for leisure pursuits like ziplining, gorge swinging, canopy tours, and other numerous optional activities like helicopter or microlite flips over the falls.

Following an early breakfast, you are driven for two hours through Zimbabwe’s northwest region to Hwange National Park. The following three nights will be spent at Hwange Safari Lodge. Hwange is home to the greatest population of African elephants in the world, including the presidential herd, in addition to a plethora of other animal species like buffalo, lion, and leopard. Since Hwange is primarily known for its wildlife, game drives with knowledgeable guides are a daily occurrence at Hwange Safari Lodge.

These can be experienced both during the day and at night, but always under the guidance of knowledgeable guides. To top it all off, every accommodation, the restaurant, the pool area, and the viewing deck offer fantastic views of the game from the surrounding waterhole. While having a sundowner, guests may observe a rare variety of animals, including impala and the majestic elephant, making their way to the waterhole for a final drink of the day.

The beginning of another action-packed day in the African wilderness is signaled by an early wake-up call. In open 4×4 cars, you leave for a morning safari. You will be on the game drive as the animals awaken thanks to the early morning safari. The safari is conducted by a knowledgeable guide who will give insider information and fun tidbits about the area before you return to the lodge for a late breakfast. The remainder of the day is spent relaxing and taking in the surroundings of the lodge while park animals descend to the waterhole there to satisfy their thirst.

Another safari in open 4×4 cars is conducted later this afternoon. The late afternoon/early evening game drive is frequently the finest time to watch the wildlife, similar to early in the morning. In a similar way to how their prey becomes more active and attentive as night falls, predatory animals start to awaken from their midday rest. Usually, cars arrive back in time for dinner just before it gets dark.

After a last open-top game drive and a late breakfast, you are picked up from the lodge and driven back to your hotel in Victoria Falls. The remainder of the day can be spent at leisure exploring Victoria Falls’ surroundings, paying a final visit to the falls, or taking part in one or more optional activities. Please ask the hotel’s travel desk about the extracurricular activities that are offered.

After breakfast, you are picked up from your accommodation and driven to Victoria Falls Airport in order to make your connecting flight.
