South Luangwa National Park is located near the settlement of Mfuwe and is 700 kilometers/343 miles from the city, Lusaka. It is one of the few biologically pristine wilderness places in Africa. The 9,050 square km national park is home to more than 60 different mammal species and 420 different bird species. The park is well known for having a large population of leopards, and night drives frequently yield sightings of these secretive animals. big elephant herds and a big population of hippo and crocodiles can be found in the park. The only area in the world where lions are known to kill hippos is South Luangwa National Park, where they are frequently spotted.

Itinary in details

You will be met by our representative at Lusaka’s Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka, who will help you check-in with your bags for your excursion to Mfuwe in South Luangwa National Park. When you land at Mfuwe Airport, you will be driven to your hotel, where you can check in and then, depending on your arrival, you’ll either go on a night game drive, a fascinating game viewing activity that focuses largely on nocturnal species or you’ll choose to relax by the lodge if you opt to do the night activity. The night activities will have you back at the lodge almost in time for dinner or bed.

On this particular day, breakfast will be provided before you go for your early-morning game viewing activities, It might be either a game drive safari or a walking safari, and then return to the lodge for lunch and recover before the afternoon/evening activity. You will have tea or coffee later in the day, then goes on a night game drive that starts in the afternoon with a break for a sundowner drink and continues with the night drive activity, which also has a spotter that shines a flashlight in the dark to look for nocturnal animals.

After breakfast, and depending on your flight time to Livingstone, you may embark on another morning game drive. Later on, a guide from Mfuwe Lodge will pick you up and transport you to Mfuwe Airport in time for your flight to Livingstone. Our driver will meet you when you land at Livingstone Airport, help you with your bags, and then take you to your lodge. The remainder of the day is yours to do as you like, either taking in the magnificent Zambezi River or participating in one of the many extra activities available. Dinner will be served later in the evening, followed by bedtime.

After breakfast, you’ll be picked up to go on a guided tour of the Victoria Falls. You’ll arrive back at the resort just in time for lunch and some downtime. You’ll depart for a sunset boat cruise on the Zambezi River later in the day. You’ll return to the lodge for dinner and a leisurely bedtime.

After having breakfast, you will go on a morning boat cruise or game drive safari. You will then return to the lodge in time for lunch and some free time. Following the afternoon game viewing, you will be given afternoon tea or coffee before returning to the lodge to unwind and have dinner.

Breakfast will be given first, after which you will check out of the resort. Depending on the time of your departure, the driver from Dav Safari will then take you to Kasane International Airport to catch your flight back home.
