Itinary in details

When you arrive at Malawi’s Lilongwe Airport, You will be driven to Nchalo Airstrip where you will take a 45-minute flight to Mkulumadzi Lodge in the Majete Wildlife Reserve. The resort is located across a charming footbridge strung over the Mkulumadzi River from a grove of enormous Leadwood and mango trees. With its intimate comfort and superior service, Mkulumadzi Lodge makes the most of Malawi’s undiscovered charm as a travel destination. Majete is one of the few reserves in Malawi that allows visitors to see the Big 5, which exists in the reserve thanks to an exceptional conservation collaboration between the government and the travel industry. There are several places to relax if you just want to unwind and rejuvenate. Popular retreats include the timber viewing terrace and the side of the shimmering pool.

After breakfast, you journey to Lake Malawi, one of Africa’s Great Lakes and a freshwater body of water that is home to more fish species than any other. There are a stunning 1,000 kinds of cichlid in these waters, making the underwater attractions resemble a tropical paradise surrounded by coral reefs. The name Lake of Stars originated from the exquisite splendor of the water glittering beneath the starry night sky.

Fill your days with activities like bird watching, dhow cruises, guided nature walks, picnics by lakes, and a variety of non-motorized water sports. The main activities to day include scuba diving, kayaking, snorkeling, and water skiing. You are invited to unwind by the infinity pool’s views and private beach on the shore below while still being close to the lodge’s welcoming staff. The food is really outstanding here. The settings, which range from lakefront bar to dining with a view and nightcaps by the open fire, make the most of the lake’s natural splendor. A varied menu makes the most of fresh, local foods.

After a week of clean air, sunny days, and wonderful hospitality, Malawi is aptly referred to as the warm heart of Africa and manages to steal a little of your own heart. You were able to get up close and personal with the Big 5 in Majete’s uninhabited wilderness. You also had the chance to snorkel in the lake’s underwater haven and toast the sun setting from the deck of a traditional dhow. Today you will depart for Lilongwe Airport to catch your flight back home.
