8 Days Namibia Safari

Description

This safari takes you to three of Namibia’s most important natural wonders. We’ll go to the Namib Desert and Sossusvlei, which has some of the world’s highest sand dunes. After that, we continue on to Swakopmund, where the desert and the coast meet. After that, we’ll travel along the Skeleton Coast before veering inland into the breathtaking Damaraland. Last but not least, we’ll go to Etosha, one of the best places in Africa to see wildlife.

Namibia is the heart of Africa, full of wide-open spaces, breathtaking views, and stark contrasts like the ocean, dunes, mountains, and deserts. The spirit and heart are stirred and moved by this vast desert region with its rolling dunes and swirling mists. With its breathtaking sea of rolling red dunes at Sossusvlei, Namibia’s Namib-Naukluft Park, the largest game park in Africa is a must-see while on safari. In terms of size and wildlife diversity, Etosha National Park is also one of Africa’s best parks.

Itinary in details

Upon your arrival, your guide will meet you and greet and also welcomes you to Namibia, after you will depart for Sossusvlei. We’ll take a scenic mountain pass into the Namib Desert after driving through the Khomas Hochland and down the escarpment. We’ll stop frequently to take pictures and stretch our legs. We’ll travel for about 4 hours, and we’ll get to our lodge in the late afternoon. We can go for a quick stroll around the lodge or meet up for sundowners, depending on when you arrive. We’ll eat dinner and discuss our exciting plans for tomorrow later.

Meal plan: Breakfast and Dinner

Get up very early before the sun rises to prepare for our trip to Sossusvlei. While we wait for the park’s entrance gates to open, we’ll quickly enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. As the sun rises over the magnificent red dunes, we will drive for about 30 minutes while admiring its beauty. This region has some of the highest sand dunes in the world, with some of them rising nearly 400 meters. They present chances to take gorgeous pictures in the lovely morning and evening light. For those who are feeling daring, you can climb or slide down the dunes or take a brisk walk to Dead Vlei. You will have plenty of time to take in the numerous attractions that surround Sossusvlei. We’ll stop halfway through the trip and have a picnic breakfast while taking in the scenery. After a jam-packed morning of activities, we will travel to Swakopmund, where we will stay for two nights.

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Following breakfast, you will have all day to explore this charming town and its surroundings. Swakopmund is a popular tourist destination because of its well-known laid-back atmosphere. There are many fantastic restaurants and bars, excellent shopping options, and amazing architectural features. There are also some optional activities for you to participate in. If you’re looking for an adventure, try quad biking, sand boarding, or simply enjoy the great outdoors.

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Today we will continue our journey north along the Skeleton Coast. This desolate and atmospheric region, which guards about a third of Namibia’s long coastline, is one of the world’s most unusual coastal wildernesses. We’ll stop at one of the numerous shipwrecks along the coast for some dramatic photo opportunities before heading inland to the breathtaking Damaraland. We’ll drive by the Brandberg, Namibia’s highest peak. We will also see the Spitzkoppe, one of Namibia’s most recognizable landmarks, off in the distance. Elephant, rhino, zebra, and lion are just a few of the desert-adapted wildlife that call this stunning mountainous region home. These animals manage to survive and even thrive in this almost completely arid environment. We’ll arrive at our lodge in time for a sundowner beverage while admiring the scenery of this untamed but stunning landscape. We will eat dinner at our lodge.

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

After breakfast, we’ll travel north and stop at the Petrified Forest, the Organ Pipes rock formation, and the Twyfelfontein rock engravings (a UNESCO World Heritage site) en route to Etosha National Park. We’ll stay here for the next three nights. We’ll then arrive at the lodge and freshen up. Just before dusk, we’ll get together, and then we’ll have dinner at our lodge.

Today, we’ll tour the southwest portion of the renowned Etosha Park. Following breakfast, we will take a morning drive before heading back to our lodge for lunch and a break during the sweltering summer sun. During the drier months of the year, almost all of the animals gather around the waterholes scattered throughout the vast park. This distinguishes Etosha from other parks in eastern or southern Africa. Following our afternoon game drive, we will return to the lodge for dinner.

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

From this point, we will travel the length of the park in our own vehicle on a full-day game drive until we reach the eastern boundary, where we will then leave the park. We will have a midway lunch break at Halali Camp before continuing on to our overnight location, which is about two hours from the entrance to Etosha National Park. We’ll get settled in and get ready before meeting for sundowners. Our final meal will be served at our lodge.

We’ll leave for Windhoek after an early breakfast so you can catch your next flight there.
