8 Days North Madagascar Tour

Description

Experience the diverse environments of northern Madagascar, from the lakes and waterfalls of Montagne d’Ambre National Park to the limestone karsts of Ankarana Reserve, before taking in the warm waters of Nosy Be. You will have the chance to see a wide variety of animals throughout your visit, the most of which are native to Madagascar. Montagne d’Ambre National Park is a beautiful illustration of a montane rainforest. The massif has an altitude range of 850 to 1,475 meters, and it has a microclimate with rainfall that is similar to that of the eastern part of the country. It is one of Madagascar’s protected places with the most visitor-friendly features because to its wide pathways, fascinating flora and fauna, pleasant climate, and easily accessible information. For old or disabled guests, this is a rare opportunity to observe the rainforest and its residents in Madagascar since during the dry season, vehicles may drive right up to the main picnic spot.

During the Adventure you will also visit Ankarana Reserve; This reserve is situated 20 kilometers north of Ambilobe and 70 kilometers south of Antsiranana. In the west, a cliff, in the south, the Mananjeba River, and in the east, Route Nationale 6 between Antsiranana and Ambilobe are its boundaries. A basaltic plain is covered by the Jurassic limestone massif known as Ankarana. The massif is separated by deep, northward-running gorges that are punctured by caves and is heavily eroded and karstic (or “tsingy”). These caverns have an extremely intricate drainage system because of the several underground rivers that flow through them in an east-west direction (into Ambavanankarana Bay), the most significant of which are the Ankarana, Mananjeba, and Besaboba. The massif serves as a crucial hydrological reservoir for nearby residents and their domestic animals during the dry season.
