8 Days Tanzania Birding and Wildlife Safari

Your guide will pick you up at the airport, greet you, and welcome you to your 8-day Tanzanian birding and wildlife safari. You’ll keep driving until you arrive at your Arusha hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you will have a city tour of Arusha during which you will visit various locations throughout the city, including the local market, the museum, art and craft stores, and you will also interact with the locals to learn about their way of life. You will be transported back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Breakfast will be provided at the inn, after which you will drive to Arusha National Park, which serves as the jumping off point for various excursions into Tanzania’s northern regions. You can enjoy seeing wildlife during your visit to the national park, including zebras, buffalos, gazelles, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and various bird species. The Verreaux’s Eagle, Martial Eagle, Augur’s Hawk-Eagle, Egyptian Goose, Augur Buzzard, Greater Flamingo, Hadeda Ibis, Helmeted Guineafowl, Silvery-cheeked Hornbill, and many more birds can be seen in Arusha National Park. You will then head back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Get up early and have breakfast at your hotel in Arusha to start the day before checking out to travel to Tarangire National Park. You will go on a game drive en route, during which you will see variety of wildlife. Over 500 different bird species can be found in the vast savannah plains of Tarangire National Park, which are dotted with enormous baobab trees. Get there in time for lunch at the inn. Take part in a walking safari in Tarangire National Park for a chance to get up close and personal with wildlife like giraffes and zebras, among many other species. There are numerous bird species that you might see in Tarangire National Park, including Kori Bustards, Gray Crowned Cranes, Red-knobbed Coots, and Small Buttonquail.

Step outside as the sun is rising for a birding outing in Tarangire National Park. Watch out for species like the Ashy Starling, Black Headed Heron, White Crowned Shrike, Red-billed Hornbill, Yellow-necked Spurfowl, Northern Pied Babbler, Pygmy Batis, and many more. Elephants, giraffes, antelopes, zebras, buffalos, cheetahs, and many different species of birds are just a few of the animals you might see grazing and wandering around the destination. Your guide will then drive you back to your lodge where you can have lunch at your leisure. For a chance to see the nocturnal animals and birds, go on a night game drive in Tarangire National Park. Go back to the lodge to spend the night.

Before leaving the lodge in Tarangire National Park, you will eat breakfast. After arriving at the Ngorongoro conservation area, you will continue your drive there and arrive at your lodge in time for lunch before entering the crater. Many tourists refer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as the Garden of Eden. More than 25,000 animals, including more than 500 bird species, live in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch. When you’re ready for an amazing cultural experience, go to the Cultural Bomas after relaxing at the lodge. After dinner, go back to the lodge to spend the night.

You will drive to the crater rim with breathtaking views after breakfast at the lodge, then descend to enjoy the chance to see elephants, lions, buffalos, and zebras, among many other animals. After that, proceed to the crater, a haven for birds. Pay attention to birds like the Secretary Bird, Gray Crowned Cranes, Kori Bustards, Fischer’s Sparrow Lark, Tawny Eagle, Lesser Spatted Eagle, Brown Snake-Eagle, Gabar Goshawk, Lapped-faced Vulture, and White-headed Vulture, among many others. Wildlife species like elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, buffalos, hippos, gazelles, antelopes, wildebeests, hartebeests, hyenas, impalas, elands, dik dik, kudu, and oryx among others roam freely in the Ngorongoro crater, which is famous for its high concentration of wildlife species. Along the shores of Lake Magadi, which is situated in the crater and a good spot for bird watching, you will enjoy seeing flamingos. After dinner, your guide will take you back to your lodge where you will spend the night.

After a leisurely breakfast at the lodge, go on a walking safari in Ngorongoro Crater to look for various bird species that you might have missed before. Get up close and personal with a variety of animals in the crater as well. After dinner, spend the night at the inn.

You will eat breakfast on the final day of your safari before leaving the hotel. Your safari will come to an end when your guide drives you to the airport or Hotel.
