9-Day Namibia Overland Safari

Description

Namibia is a true experience, taking in everything from the Sossusvlei dunes to the Namib Desert, the Atlantic coast to the historic Damaraland plains and the fauna of Etosha. This exploration includes Sossusvlei’s towering red sand dunes, the Atlantic Ocean’s vibrant blue waters, Damaraland’s desert and its inhabitants, and Etosha National Park’s plains game and predators. This great adventure is completed as the breathtaking vistas are shown as we travel between destinations. Sossusvlei is surrounded by high red dunes and is located in Namibia’s Namib-Naukluft National Park in the southern portion of the Namib Desert. The name “Sossusvlei” is frequently used in a broad sense to refer to the surrounding area (including other neighboring vleis such as Dead Vlei and other high dunes), which is one of Namibia’s most popular tourist attractions. Sossusvlei is a mixed-race name that approximately translates to “dead end marsh.”

Itinary in details

You will be picked up from your lodging as you take in the scenery of the Namib Naukluft National Park. You will enjoy the stunning views of beautiful dunes in the area. You will spend two days exploring the hidden features Sossussvlei has to offer. There are smaller animals like the bat-eared fox, black-backed jackal, and Cape fox as well as desert-adapted fauna like the ostrich, springbok, and gemsbok to be viewed. Also available are picturesque hikes and drives, both during the day and at night.

You will be a part of an exciting and unique conservation success story at Desert Rhino Camp. You will be led into one of the eight elevated en-suite Meru-style tents to set the atmosphere. From the solitude of your veranda, you may take in the expansive views of the rocky, rolling hills. There are full-day excursions available, but you may also unwind in our tented living area in between activities. Meals are consumed around the fire pit in the evening. Desert Rhino cries out to be explored as a wonderland of exotic plant life, amazing fauna, and immense wildness.

Etosha National Park gets its name from the region’s largest salt pan, the world-famous Etosha Pan. On game drives through both reserves, you’ll see a variety of species, including black-faced impala. Lions in particular are among their constant predators. Ongava is home to one of Namibia’s largest black and white rhino herds as a result of a successful reintroduction effort.

You will depart the Ongava Reserve early on your final morning and travel back to Windhoek in order to catch your flight back to your home country.
