Itinary in details

We’ll leave Johannesburg early this morning. We will travel through the Highveld’s agricultural and coal mining regions before reaching the Mpumalanga escarpment. Here, we’ll check out some of the spectacular sights along the Panorama Route, like God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, and various local waterfalls. Undoubtedly one of the most stunning and well-liked tourist sites in South Africa is the Panorama Route that follows the Blyde River Canyon in Mpumalanga. It passes through the harsh Drakensberg mountain range in the north. The inland plateau here, on the northeastern portion of the Great Escarpment, drops abruptly and sharply, providing breathtaking vistas of the Lowveld plains up to a thousand meters below. We will arrive at our luxurious lodging in Graskop late in the afternoon. We’ll eat dinner at one of the town’s many charming eateries.

After an early breakfast, we go to the Three Rondawels vantage point over the Blyde River Canyon and Bourkes Luck Potholes. Many people think the panorama route’s best views may be found from this viewing point. Then, via the Abel Erasmus Mountain Pass, we cross the northern Drakensberg Mountains and enter the Lowveld, arriving at Moholoholo Forest Camp in time for lunch. The woodland camp is tucked away beneath the escarpment’s imposing rocks in a lovely location. In addition to three delectable meals, a game drive through the reserve, a lovely morning bush walk with an expert guide who will show you the sights, sounds, and smells of the African bush, your stay will also include a trip to our renowned Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. After visiting the rehabilitation center, you will go on a wildlife drive at dusk in the reserve, and then have dinner.

Another amazing day in the African wilderness begins with an early wake-up call. We shall embark on a field guide-led woodland walk this morning at sunrise. This is a wonderful chance to observe some of the smaller animals and plants up close, in addition to some of the larger fauna in its natural habitat. After finishing the bushwalk, you will be at served a sumptuous breakfast at you lodge. After lunch, you embark on your first game drive in specially modified open 4X4 vehicles with a skilled field guide for professional supervision. Deep in the bush, sundowners are savored as twilight falls. The drive then continues while using spotlights to look for nocturnal creatures. After the game drive, dinner is served at the resort.

An early wake-up call heralds the beginning of yet another action-packed day in the Big Five region. After a cup of coffee and a few nibbles, you’ll board open 4×4 vehicles for an early morning safari before returning to the lodge for a late breakfast. Following breakfast, you have the option of going on a guided bush walk with an armed ranger who will point out spoor and droppings and reveal some of the intriguing facts about the bush. If you’re fortunate, you might encounter big game while walking—a genuinely thrilling experience. Another safari will be conducted later today, followed by a delectable South African dinner.

Following a last open vehicle game drive and a late breakfast, you are picked up from the lodge and driven back to Johannesburg over the spectacular Abel Erasmus Pass. (You can choose to take a flight back from Hoedspruit Airport to your next location.)
