At 10:00 am and proceed to the Cairo Citadel of Salah El Din the Mohamed Ali Mosque, one of Cairo’s most stunning mosques, is also referred to as the Alabaster Mosque because alabaster stone was used to cover its outside walls.

Then you will go to Al-Rifa’i Mosque, which is a large and well-known mosque. The edifice was designed to complement the earlier structure and is situated directly across from Sultan Hassan’s Mosque-Madrassa, which was built about 1361. This was a part of a massive push by Egypt’s 19th-century rulers to both modernize the city and link themselves with the alleged splendor of earlier eras in Egypt’s Islamic history.

Visit El Sultan Hassan Mosque, also known as “Madrasa El Sultan Hassan,” which was established by Sultan Hassan in 1356 A.D. It is the largest and most important mosque in Cairo. For instance, the mosque was intended to house educational facilities for each of the four Sunni schools of thought—Shafi’i, Maliki, Hanafi, and Hanbali.

Drive next to Cairo’s Al-Azhar Mosque, popularly known as the mosque of splendor. In 970, Al-Mu’izz li-Din Allah of the Fatimid Caliphate ordered its construction for the brand-new capital city. The Islamic prophet Muhammad’s daughter Fatimah is a renowned person in the religion and was given the name Az-Zahr, which means “the shining or resplendent one,” hence the name of the place. It was the first mosque built in Cairo, which has come to be known as “the City of a Thousand Minarets.”

End your day excursion with a visit to Cairo’s El Hussein Mosque. The holy mosque is thought to be the resting place of the Prophet Muhammad’s grandson’s head. At the end of the excursion, our guide will return you to your Cairo hotel.
