Itinary in details

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by your private guide. You will be driven to the Waterberg Mountains, where your lodging for the night is located. After arriving, lunch will be served, and you will have some time to check in at the lodge. We will do a game drive in an open safari vehicle today at this exclusive Big 5 Game Reserve. We’ll be able to see some of the countless species that could be present in this lovely wildlife reserve during the game drive. Remember that you are in the Big 5’s home range, so your chances of seeing these amazing creatures are very high. We will return to the resort for dinner after enjoying a sundowner beverage (own expense) somewhere in the bush.

We take a brief cup of coffee or tea and a few typical South African rusks when we first wake up, then we will go for our early-morning safari. Getting up early gives us the opportunity to see the animals while they are still active or busy hunting, before they take a nap in the sweltering afternoon. We return to the lodge after a long morning journey to have a sumptuous well-catered breakfast. After that, we will have some free time to unwind by the pool and take in the view. There will be some opportunity for a snooze following lunch. We will set out on our afternoon safari in the late afternoon when it begins to cool down again and travel in a different direction in quest of some more animals and species we haven’t yet seen. Keep an eye out for some predators as you slowly move through the forest. Dinner tonight will be served again when you return from your safari.

On our final morning, we depart on one final early-dawn safari in the hopes of spotting a rare animal. We’ll go on a bush walk in the Big 5’s habitat this morning. The goal of this tour is not to see large animals, but to focus on the finer details and learn more about how everything in nature works together. Please keep in mind that the odds of spotting animals on foot are slim because their senses are better adapted to the bush and they can hear, smell, and see us much more easily than we can hear, see, or smell them. Having said that, there is always the possibility of encountering animals including the Big 5 while on a walking safari. You will have nothing to worry about because your guide is qualified and educated to cope with such situations; instead, you can simply enjoy the moment. We enjoy a leisurely, filling breakfast when we return to the resort before checking out and departing for Johannesburg.
