Itinary in details

Set out from Cape Town or Stellenbosch and travel to Hermanus along the gorgeous coastal road, stopping to explore an endangered African penguin colony at Betties Bay. Spend the afternoon in Hermanus, a whale watching destination known for its Southern Right Whale numbers between July and November. Drive to Cape Agulhas, the southernmost point of Africa, in the afternoon to explore the viewpoint and learn more about where the warm Indian and frigid Atlantic Oceans meet. Many sailors find it to be a difficult spot because they experience a stormy finale with ships being pushed onto the shallow seas of the Agulhas Bank by the choppy wave and shifting currents.

Today you will leave for Oudtshoorn in the Little Karoo, often known as the “Ostrich Capital of the World,” to explore the largest ostrich population in the world. Continue on Route 62, which is South Africa’s longest wine route at 850km, and take a guided tour of Cango Caves to experience its underground splendor. Take pleasure in the 200-step descent down Jacob’s ladder to the Great Hall before continuing to King Solomon Mine. Sip some wine and relax after a stressful day.

After breakfast, go to the captivating Outeniqua Mountain pass, often known as the Mountains of the Stars or Serra da Estrela in Portuguese. When you visit the Wilderness National Park, you take a canoe trip through an indigenous forest with a diverse bird population to the Touw River. You start a 2-kilometer boardwalk trip after 40 minutes downstream to explore the rock pool and waterfall. Travel along the Garden Route through the stunning Lake District after canoeing to Knysna town. Take a break for lunch in Knysna, then head to Knysna Heads viewpoint for lovely views of the Indian Ocean and the Knysna River estuary. In the late afternoon, explore Sedgefield, which has beautiful vistas and beaches.

After stopping at Bloukrans Bridge to see the highest bungee jump in the world (216 meters), continue on your way to Tsitsikamma National Park. Spend the afternoon exploring Tsitsikamma National Park, which features a beautiful Indian Ocean coastline and native vegetation. Walk through the forest while utilizing the Storms River Mouth suspension bridge. In the late afternoon, continue to Addo.

Take part in a lengthy, two to three-hour game drive in the Addo Elephant National Park to look for animals like elephants, lions, buffalo, black rhinoceroses, zebras, warthogs, hartebeest, elands, and kudu, among others.

After breakfast, travel to Cape Town, stopping along the way at Mossel Bay to check out the lovely beaches, take the Cape St. Blaize trail along the cliffs for some excellent ocean views, and then visit the Diaz Museum complex to honor the first European exploration of Africa’s point. Tandem skydiving from 10,000 feet is an option for adventure seekers! Sandboarding on the expansive dune in South Africa is an alternative. Continue driving and arrive in the afternoon at Stellenbosch or Cape Town.
