Itinary in details

When you arrive at Antananarivo’s Ivato Airport, you will be met and driven to your hotel so you can unwind from your travel and go swimming. You might be able to ask the hotel to arrange a tour to the handicrafts market, but this would cost extra and depend on what time you arrive.

Today you will be driven to the airport for your journey to Morondava, where you will be met and driven to Kirindy. As you take a night stroll in the Kirindy dry forest in search of rare nocturnal lemurs, you’ll get a chance to experience the mesmerizing attraction of the area.

Today is been a full day of exploration and adventure! We’ll leave early in the morning to explore the Kirindy Reserve, pausing along the way to take in the splendor of the famed Baobab Avenue at daybreak. You will be able to observe seven different kinds of lemurs at Kirindy, including the fat-tailed lemur and the diminutive Pygmy Mouse lemur, which is said to be the smallest primate in the entire world. The largest predator in Madagascar, the Fossa, may be seen best at Kirindy, where you can also observe a variety of spiny tenrecs, birds, and reptiles in abundance. The rich flora includes three of the six indigenous Malagasy baobabs. After exploring Kirindy, we will go north to Tsimafana, where we catch the ferry to Belo sur Tsiribihina. We will reach Bekopaka, where we will spend the day, in the evening following another road transfer. Please be aware that today’s driving will be quite time-consuming due to the bad and uneven road conditions.

Today we’ll go to Bemaraha National Park in quest of the Grands Tsingy. The area has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990, and it boasts a unique terrain, well-preserved mangrove forests, and some magnificent bird and lemur species. We’ll walk around the park. In the park, there are over 11 species of lemur, 90 kinds of birds, and 50 types of reptiles, some of which we might be lucky to encounter on our excursions across the reserve. The karst landscape and deciduous forest provide a haven for unique and endangered species. The Grands Tsingy is well known for its limestone pinnacles, pillar forest, and plateau. Its needles can reach heights of several hundred meters! We explore this spectacular geological location all day long.

Following breakfast we will depart for Morondava using 4×4 safari vehicles. We will pass the tombs of the Sakalava tribe as we move through the little settlement of Belo-sur-Tsiribihina. On the way, we make a pit stop at the magnificent Baobab Alley, but this time it’s at sunset, making for a fantastic photo opportunity! Early in the evening, we will reach Morondava, where we spend the night.

Set out on a peaceful morning journey as you gracefully travel through a picturesque environment of vivid mangroves in a classic dug-out canoe. To reach the lovely fishing village of Betania, continue along the meandering canals. Your fantastic trip comes to an end as you are then driven to the airport for your flight back to Antananarivo. We look forward to seeing you soon in Madagascar!
