Siwa is not only one of Egypt’s most distant oases, but also one of its most fascinating. For desert daydreamers, the fact that it is 60 feet below sea level makes it even more alluring. When Alexandria the Great visited the oasis in 331 BC and consulted the Oracle of Amun there, it was made tourism destination. The oasis is surrounded by palm and olive trees and is only 50 km from the Libyan border. This sanctuary, a lovely respite from the oppressive heat, is filled with sparkling springs. Bir Wahid is a region in the Siwa Oasis’s Great Sand Sea that contains three natural water springs, albeit only two of them receive the majority of visitors. The Great Sand Sea, an 800 km long natural preserve in the desert to the north of the Gilf Kebir plateau and to the east of Libya, is where it is situated.

Itinary in details

Your Dav Safaris agent will get you up from your Cairo hotel at 6:00 a.m. and transport you to Alamein, which will take approximately 3 hours. You can visit the WWII Museum and the Cemetery in Al Alamein, as well as the location of the major World War II fight. Continue driving to Siwa after passing by the stunning bay of Marsa Matrouh on the Mediterranean coast. Alamein to Siwa is a six-hour trip away.

After breakfast, take in a tour of Siwa’s (Shali’s) Old City. After that, take a transfer to Aghurmi Village to witness the Alexander Temple, which is devoted to the God Amon-26 Dynasty, and then to Um Ubeyda to see the Amun Ra Temple. Following that, proceed to Cleopatra Spring (Ein Guba). Complete your journey by visiting the Siwa House Museum. Transfer to Fitnas Island in the afternoon to witness the distinctive Sunset and most of the guidebooks.

We set off on our trek from Maraki Village in the Siwa Desert. Cross the desert and pause next to one of the distinctive archeology signs at Great Siwa Mountain, where the earliest evidence of human habitation above the mountain dates from before history. Continue on our safari excursion across the dunes until we reach the fossil area and witness the Cambrian-era stony coral reefs. Drive to one of the springs (Shiata Lake) in the middle of the desert after that for an opportunity to see Flamenco birds, go swimming in the chilly spring, enjoy a bath, and relax. There is still time to take pleasure in desert sand surfing. After that, it’s time to travel to a different hot spring known as (Bir Wahid) spring to cool and relax our muscles. returning to the hotel for the night.

Today you will tour the tombs within the Mountain of the Dead (Gabal El Maouta) and see several fascinating tombs such as SI Amon, MSW Isis, and the Crocodile Tomb. After seeing the Dakrour Mountains, travel to Abu Sherouf, one of the Siwan Villages, where you may experience Bedouin culture and the Roman Spring to your hotel once more.

Today after breakfast, you will be transfered to your Cairo hotel or at the airport.
