Tanzania’s Tarangire National Park is one of the parks on the circuit in the northern part of the country. The Tarangire River flows through the park and gave it its name, Tarangire, which is also the name of the national park. The river serves as a key supply of water for several wildlife species, especially during the dry season. This park is well-known for its large elephant herds and the mini-wildlife migration that occurs during the dry season, when about 250,000 animals enter the park. It is one of Tanzania’s most rewarding wildlife destinations and is regarded as one of the best birding locations in the country.

On this day, depending on your location, our driving guide will pick you up from your hotel or, brief you on the safari, and then begin the trek to Tarangire National Park. The drive takes between two and three hours, and along the route, you’ll enjoy lovely scenery and wonderful views of the surrounding area. As soon as you get to the park, you’ll check in at the lodge, eat lunch, and then go on an afternoon game drive to see animals like elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, lions, zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, impalas, elands, various bird species, and distinctive baobab trees, among others. You will return to the lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner, and overnight after the wildlife drive.
Today, after an early breakfast, your driving guide will pick you up from the lodge to embark on a morning game drive where you will have the opportunity to see creatures that you might have missed the day before. You will travel to Tarangire River during the morning game drive, where you will see incredible views of animals like elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, warthogs, waterbucks, and Dik Dik that congregate there to drink water, as well as predators like lions and leopards on the prowl, water birds, and stunning baobab trees, among others. You’ll drive back to the resort for lunch after the game drive.
