6-Days Sun City and Pilanesberg Safari

When you arrive at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, you will be welcomed and transferred to Sun City. The remainder of the day is up to you once you’ve checked in. Sun City Resort has the distinction of being the only surf-and-safari resort within a two-hour drive of landlocked Johannesburg. It is home to the Valley of Waves and is spread out along the boundary of the Pilanesberg National Park. We have the day to ourselves in and around Sun City. Everything from the casinos to golf, the Valley of Waves, water sports, quad riding, ziplining, and more is available here as entertainment. Please take note that these things are not required but rather are optional.

Check out and travel to the adjacent Pilanesberg National Park after breakfast. This expansive area delivers exhilarating big game watching in a malaria-free environment because it is located in the environmentally rich transition zone between the Kalahari and the Lowveld. Upon arrival, check in, eat lunch, and then unwind before the afternoon game drive. For dinner and the night, return to the lodge.

The game drives take up most of your days. You will take part in two guided game drives per day, one in the morning and one in the evening, in an open 10-seater game watching vehicle, in the Wilderness Area of the Pilanesberg Game Reserve. These excursions last three to four hours and include stops for sundowners at dusk and coffee in the morning. At the lodge, meals are included.
